In September 1827, disaster struck Turku when a devastating fire destroyed much of Finland’s oldest city. Luostarinmäki, a modest district on the outskirts near Vartiovuori Hill, was one of the few areas to survive. However, the surrounding landscape has changed dramatically over the years.
